The President’s Message

Based in The Gambia, our mission is to facilitate the provision of free medical services to people who lack easy access to healthcare services regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. We have recently also focused on providing free water resources in the form of concrete wells and boreholes to communities much in need of them.

The Foundation (SAJCF) was founded in the name of our father
Sheikh Abdullah Jah (died circa 1960) of Fass Omar Saho village, situated in the Niumi area of the North Bank Region of The Gambia. Sheikh Abdullah Jah was a co-founder of the village, and was an example of humility, simplicity, love and respect for human life, and generosity in his lifetime. He was so well known for his generosity that when he had given out all he had, he would borrow from friends to give the needy who approached him. He died without any debts and with no assets except for well trained children among whom are pioneers of this Foundation.

Since the inception of the Foundation in 2004 to date we have successfully carried out over 66 medical caravan trips, to rural villages around the country, and have treated over 31500 patients during this time. We have also trained local medical personnel, sponsored serious medical treatment cases in the country and abroad and supported other local developmental initiatives that benefit people living in rural parts of the country.

We thank our partners and supporters over the years and look forward to expanding our free services to benefit our brothers, sisters and children in The Gambia and beyond.
